NEVER-BEFORE SEEN OR PUBLISHED PHOTO, circa 1978. This amazing piece of pop music history has been hidden from the public for over 30 years. After all the recent hype over that ugly nude photo of Madonna selling for over $37,000 (see a link to the article here), I decided (after a lot of careful thought) to part with one of my most prized possessions - a much more tasteful, beautiful ORIGINAL photo of Madonna, of equal or greater rarity, from around the same era. It is a stunning photo from Madonna's dancing/modeling days, taken by Cecil Taylor in Ann Arbor, Michigan sometime between 1977 and 1979. It is an absolute ORIGINAL (probably silver gelatin) photo print, on very heavy (almost watercolor-type) paper, from the original negative. The actual image size is about 13" high, and the overall paper size is 11" x 17". It is in absolutely flawless, perfect condition and shows no signs of fading or staining whatsoever. The back of the print has a stamped copyright notice, and photographer's stamp (Cecil I. Taylor, All Rights Reserved).

This one is one that you would actually WANT to frame and hang in your apartment); and, unlike the nude photo, there are not dozens of other similar "outtakes" floating around - this photo is a true one-off, one-of-a-kind. This is something I've just been kinda keeping "up my sleeve" for a rainy day. Well, I think now might be the time to part with it. I can not, and will not, offer any type of scans (at any quality), prints (at any size), or other duplicates of this photo. ORIGINAL MASTER REEL TAPE FOR "LUCKY STAR" AND "BORDERLINE". Here is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to own an amazing piece of Madonna's history. It's the original Master Tape for "Lucky Star" and "Borderline". It is an Ampex 456 "Grand Master" reel. The tape is 2" wide, and the reel is 10-1/2" wide and weighs a hefty 10 pounds. It contains two 24-track "take 1" recordings for "Lucky Star" and "Borderline". If you click on the above images of the included papers, you can see some very interesting insight as to the production process for the 2 songs. One of the images features detailed settings for each of the mixer's 24 track control knobs. Obviously, the average collector would have no way to play this tape (requires a console such as an Otari MTR-90 or Studer A827). So, for backup purposes, I will include two data DVDs that contain both 192khz and 44.1khz individual WAV files all the tracks on the reel tape. These WAV files can easily be imported into Pro Tools, Logic, or GarageBand and mixed to your heart's content. However, please note that this reel (and the accompanying data DVD) is being sold privately from one collector to another, with NO reproduction rights given or implied. This means that even if you buy the reel, you do not own the rights to sell copies of it, or any mixes that you make.
