NOTES ON MADDYFEST 2000:
Last year (for MaddyFest '99), I spent an entire week preparing. This year, for MaddyFest 2000, I spent TWO MONTHS getting everything ready! There were items and supplies to be bought, things to get organized, wrapped, priced, and loaded on the truck, etc.). There was so much do to! Luckily, I had my best friend in the whole world, Kim, to help me out. It took an entire day just to pack up the truck with all the stuff we brought. It was a seven-hour drive from Boston to New York City (including our 3 stops along the way for food and stuff). We arrived in New York at about 9:30pm on Friday the 4th, and stayed in the Club Quarters Hotel (right near Wall Street). We didn't get much sleep on Friday night, mostly because we were so excited! On Saturday morning, we got up at 7:00am. We didn't arrive at the Downtown Athletic Center until 9:30 in the morning, because we got kinda lost (we ended up in the Battery Tunnel, and had to pay a $3.50 toll for nothing). Later on that day, I found out that a LOT of other customers made the same mistake! Anyhow, we finally started setting up our 24-foot long table at about 10:00am. The doors opened to the Madonna fans at 12:00 noon. The four of us (Myself, Kim, William, and Emma) finished setting up everything just in time for the fans! It took us exactly two hours to set everything up, which was an amazing feat, considering how much stuff we had! We had even built a 6-foot high by 24-foot long wall of pegboard, to hang up records and magazines (see the photos). It looked really great!

Thanks to my best friend Kim, for helping out so well, and for taking all those pictures at MaddyFest, while I helped customers at our table. Thanks to EMMA for keeping an eye on things, lifting heavy boxes, and for keeping us company. Special thanks to William, for paying for the pizza Friday night. And most of all, thanks to my father for lending us his HUGE Dodge Ram 2500 extended-cab pickup truck that we used to haul all the stuff down to New York! We actually had to build a special wooden "box" on top of the back of the truck, to hold all the stuff - it's not shown in the photo, but just building that special "cap" was a LOT of work! thanks to my dad for helping me out!

Most of all, THANKS to all of you who stopped by our Madonna Catalog table. We made a lot of new friends, and I finally got to meet a lot of my long-time customers! We really appreciate your business, and look forward to helping you in the future. I hope you enjoyed our booth, it was a LOT of work setting it all up!

A special hello to Mike Colacurto, Danny Echi, Beth Germano, Jeannie Buxo, Matt Rettenmund, Nick Mendoros, Julio Perez, and anyone that we forgot. We had a GREAT time at MaddyFest 2000, and look forward to next year's activities!
Matt Rettenmund, author of the incredible book ENCYCLOPEDIA MADONNICA at his table. He mostly offered rare magazines for sale.
Other vendors at the show, including the ALL ACCESS FAN CLUB, who sold mostly magazines and counter stands. In the first photo above, Jeannie has a "Magazine Blowout Sale." In the second photo, the handsome Scott shows off his magazines.
Peter Kentes offers for sale six different and very RARE photos he took of Madonna. These photos will be available through THE MADONNA CATALOG within the next few weeks (as soon as I finish working out a deal with Peter, we will officially offer these prints for sale).

Nathan works at the entrance to MaddyFest 2000 by selling tickets and memorabilia. He was nice enough to give me a beautiful framed print of Madonna!
One of the many performers at MaddyFest; these guys did an amazing original LIVE rendition of "Drowned World / Substitute For Love"
